Questions
Before you install it.
Does payroll need the internet?
No. Once the licence is on the computer, payroll runs there. A dropped connection does not stop the month.
Which Kenyan deductions does it work out?
PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, the Affordable Housing Levy, NITA, HELB, fringe benefit tax and withholding tax.
Do I have to pay for the whole year at once?
You can pay the year once, or pay in installments. Installments cost 20% more and run for at most 6 months. Each payment keeps the software working for that stretch. Miss one and you can still open payroll, but you cannot change it until you pay. The payroll stays on the computer. Downloading first gives you 30 days to try it, for up to 10 people.
Can employees change payroll from their payslip?
No. They can only view their own payslip, and only if you add online payslips. They cannot open the payroll.
Do we still need an accountant?
Yes. ClockTap does the sums from the rules we have checked. It does not replace your accountant.
What if we hire more people than the licence allows?
Move to a larger package before the next month. The limit is the one you bought. The largest packages are priced with us, not paid on the site.

Download the Windows app and buy a licence. When the year ends you can still open payroll, but you cannot change it. The file stays on the computer.
